Winter Days

NIWA defines a winter day as one in which the daily average temperature is less than a selected threshold of 9°C (for example, see this link). The table and charts show the number of days per month which are below a set threshold limit, and the year to year distribution of those days relative to this limit. Use the dropdown lists to view the data for particular months and also to see the effect of different temperature limits.
